A Curriculum of Excellence

UAG’s goal is to prepare our graduates for future careers as physicians so they can provide outstanding preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to individuals, families and communities.
The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, School of Medicine, offers a comprehensive four-year program leading to the achievement of an MD degree. Our institution is dedicated to delivering exceptional medical education, equipping aspiring physicians with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered care within interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Our curriculum is designed to emphasize evidence-based practice, quality improvement methodologies, and informatics, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the evolving healthcare landscape. Throughout the program, students engage in a variety of student-centered activities, fostering the development of exceptional competence and facilitating integrative learning. This approach exposes students to a diverse range of perspectives and promotes critical and holistic thinking.
UAG School of Medicine encourages applications from all individuals who have the capacity and determination to learn a new language, Spanish, to experience a vibrant, exciting new culture, and to achieve your goal of becoming a doctor.
MCAT or GPA scores are not the only criteria considered by UAG when selecting students. In order to give each applicant the best chance of being accepted, we approach the admissions process from all angles. If you think UAG is a good fit for you, we'd be happy to look over your profile and assist you with the enrollment process.

“Medicine has always been a part of my life, as my father is a UAG graduate and practices family medicine. Growing up in a medical household, I knew from a young age that medicine was my true passion. My experiences in Guadalajara, where I studied at UAG, were transformative. Despite not knowing any Spanish when I arrived, I embraced the culture and fell in love with the city and its people. It allowed me to practice medicine and pursue my dreams and passions.”
